About Me

Throwing on the wheel

My name is Bev Fehringer.  I started doing pottery several years ago as a hobby. I am a self taught potter that found fun and relaxation while throwing clay on the wheel. I eventually acquired a slab roller and expanded my style to slab work.

After discovering a hidden talent and a love for my craft, I began to sell my pieces at various craft shows and was received well by the public. Black Raven Pottery was born.

In 2014 a shop was built on our property in Arcade, NY. The Arcade shop and studio were the beginning to a flourishing business. I continued to do shows and exhibits. I also began to teach private classes and various classes for the Tri-County Arts Council.

In 2018 I was accepted as a juried artist with the Arts & Craftsmen Guild on the Historic Roycroft Campus. An opportunity arose to become an Artist-In-Residence on the Historic Roycroft Campus in East Aurora and I moved my shop and studio to the town that my husband and I grew up in. The studio and shop, located in the lower level of the Roycroft Antiques building was officially opened in late 2018.

I specialize in functional pottery that is dishwasher, oven and microwave safe. My pieces are useful in all areas of your home and will add a touch of fun or uniqueness to any room. I also make fun, artistic and decorative pieces.

Black Raven Pottery pieces make great gifts for all occasions. I try to keep my prices reasonable, but a lot of time, energy, materials and of course, love go into each piece.
